We are willing to be that ALL twins have some pretty amazing stories to tell, whether they are happy, funny, sad, scary...whatever the case may be. We see twins as a phenomenon. Things often happen that make even us as twins freak out a little bit, or a lot, depending on the situation!!
We often buy the same cards for our parents without being together when purchasing them and don't find out until our parents receive them and are a little freaked out about it.
Sure, we have a lot of the same clothes, but we also have a lot of different clothes than each other too. Mindy is more girly girl and her wardrobe suggests that, while I'm more of a tomboy and my clothing proves that. But still, there are many times when we show up to a place wearing the same outfit. We've been accused of planning this and of course there are times that we do, but in actuality, most of the time we don't.
How many times in our lives do we as twins get asked, "Do you feel each other's pain?", "If I pinch her, will you feel it!?", "Do you guys have telepathy, can you read each others minds?"... Sometimes, these questions seem silly for someone to ask, but in reality, they are pretty legit questions to ask twins.
While we have not ever personally experienced sympathy pains for one another, our daughters have. We don't have telepathy, but we often know what the other is thinking. We do finish each other's sentences and we quite often say the same exact thing at the same exact time in the same exact tone.
CLOSE COUSINS
Mindy and I have daughters that are each of our first born and they are fifty-five days apart, mine being the older of the two.
When Mindy and her family lived in California and my family and I lived here in Michigan, we were talking on the phone one day when I told Mindy that Alissa was complaining that her finger hurt, but she hadn't done anything to it.
She asked, "Which finger is she complaining about?!", and when I told her, she said, "Babe! Briana jammed that same finger on that same hand this morning!"!! You can probably imagine how freaked out we were that our daughters have that kind of a connection.
HALF A BRAIN
Our brother has sometimes made a joke that we each have half a brain and when we are together, our brain is whole, making it easier for us to think.
Mindy has been working at a local flower shop and a few months ago, I was blessed to be able to start working there too. We have never worked together before, so this is a new and fun experience for us.
One day, I was sharing with our boss what our brother has said about our half a brain and she said, "THAT's why I had to hire you both!!" and we all just lost it. That was quite funny!!
